Kim & I went to the Long Beach International Quilt Show…

(WHAT?!?!?! Two posts from me in ONE day…sheesh…I don’t even know myself anymore!)

Yes, we did. I was thrilled to stop in…Kim was happy to go with me? LOL…Here is a quick look at what caught my eye….

This next set, well, I was amazed. I have never really seen anything like it. Quite a creation.

This was another very cool quilt…

That is just some of what we got to see. I was humbled. By theway, I will NOT get into what I might have bought (assuming I bought ANYthing…LOL!!!)

So, it has been a while….

OK, yeah, yeah, I am gonna play catch up. Seriously. As I start this I am not even sure what I will combine into this post…but rest assured, it will be chaotic. Sorta like life :-)

OK. The last few months have been quite full. I am sure I will forget a few things, and for sure, I am missing some pictures…but such is life!

I bought yards (and yards…and YARDS) of a fabric to back a California King Size quilt I was going to make. This was back when I first started quilting. Knew nothing of piecing a back, or, well, ACTUALLY calculating what I might NEED….So, really, I ended up with, um, 22ish yards of a white fabric with navy print hibiscus flowers on it. Pretty. Never made the quilt. Fast forward. Hubby doesn’t like our living room curtains. I made curtains from the was-gonna-be-backing (for king kong quilt) fabric. They actually came out great.No. I haven’t taken pictures. I should. I will? Some day…LOL

Next, this is really funny. If you think about it in the proper context it is actually kind of hysterical (and the PERFECT illustration of the chaos…)…I made a quilt. Not just ANY quilt, but a beautiful quilt that a LOT of time and thought went into. I had been collecting fabric for it since I started quilting (literally.) My daughter’s “color” is purple, and when I started quilting I firmly knew I qould make her a “purple quilt” some day. So I collected. Earlier this year my Sister In Law and I were chatting quilts (we do that.) and she had found an awesome pattern. It was by Oh, Fransson! It is called the Birthday Cake Quilt.   At any rate, yes. that was the purple quilt…and I had JUST enough time to get it put together before that same daughter came home from her first year of college. All systems GO! Well, I (of course) took photos to share with Suz as I was working on it. After sending them to her I was very careful to delete them from my computer, wouldn’t want my daughter to come home and see them before I gave her the quilt! Yeah. Well, one should ALSO delete them from the camera or one might have their daughter say, “Mom, who was this quilt for?” Yeah, she got it early.LOL. Better than that, I think I deleted the pictures from the camera…and now the quilt is back with her at school…hmmm, maybe she will take pity on me and take a picture or two…

I also made a quilt recently for the daughter of a good friend. My daughter made a matching pillow. Brit likes pink, black & White…and has a thing for the Eiffel Tower…

This one has also gone off to college…LOL….

Ok, enough from me for the moment…For the record, I feel SILLY posting about all of this as the two people who actually read this both already know ALL about it…LOL

Oh, well, off to see why there are helicopters flying overhead…
