Yet another catch up…
OK, make up post coming up (yeah, I know it seems like I do a lot of these. That is because I do….LOL)…again, feeling silly. The two of you that read this know almost everything I am going to chat about, but here goes…
Farmer’s Wife QAL..Yeah, I am officially “out” It has been put away, probably for good. I did find the paper piecing much easier, but I have kind of lost my enthusiasm for the whole project. We will see if I find some motivation for it…LOL
36 Patch QAL-Have NOT given up on that (at all!!) I have 21 of the 36 done, and fabric pulled for the rest of them! I have just gotten side tracked with a few things….
There was a secret project which has been completed…and I have NO pictures! Me. The photo QUEEN took NO pictures of the secret project. Seriously? Is this old age setting in?
I have put borders on a quilt top for my daughter. The blocks came from a virtual quilting bee that we participated in. She pieced the blocks. I added the borders. I also have a plan for the back and will be putting it all together for her. No, MY quilt from this bee is not even on my radar…yet. I will have to take and show pictures soon.
Some of you remember this fabric (Some of you even remember helping me hunt down MORE of it…LOL):
Well, by the end of the day it WILL be a top, and I even have plans to try to make it a finish by the end of the week!! Later it will get it’s own post. Really.
This thread…well, it comes HIGHLY recommended by Crazy Mom Quilts, and Connecting Threads was having a sale so I ordered 2 different spools.I am not going to confess how long ago that was. However, today was the day it wanted to come out and play. I am happy to say that overall I really like it. My only problem is going to be figuring out how to store it so that I know which color is which. There is no sticker on the end (which I actually LOVE). Since I only have 2 (at the moment) I made a little color chart…but I am pretty sure I will have more. Soon. Have to figure that one out.
Fun thing happening…Through a series of events (leaving a comment on a blog, sending an email, etc) I am testing a pattern for a super talented gal in Australia (Gotta love the internet!!) Her pattern and her quilt are going to be in a magazine! Can’t wait! At any rate, I plan to test it using three versions 1. a girl version, 2. a boy version and 3. a “springtime” version. I am very excited about it. (really? LOL)
So here are the fabrics I have pulled (ok, and bought…whatever!) so far…there will be more…
Also took on the major task of organizing and REfolding all of my (um) stash…
And last, but not least…I have been dabbling with free motion machine embroidery (probably more commonly known as Thread Painting)…It was super fun, and EASY (remind me of that when I get frustrated…LOL)
On that note (if you are still reading this…LOL) Hope everyone has a great day!!
