I’m (almost) famous…LOL

And that mystery pile I shared…this is what it was!!!

I was SO excited to test that pattern…and it is a GREAT pattern. I think it is super versatile. I can see it in all kinds of themes. Like girl, boy, neutral, spring, winter, fall, summer…I can go on. But I won’t. LOL. It was super good for me because I HAD  to follow it!

Thanks for sharing it with me Laura (not that she will ever read this, because I am pretty sure only my fantastic family reads this, but Thanks anyway!)

What will This Be?

Another picture free comment…

OK, ladies….I am working on another secret project (should I start numbering them?) This one, well, I kinda LOVE it…and I really don’t want to let it go to it’s intended recipient. Yeah, we might have a problem. LOL. Seriously. By the way, this is TOTALLY out of the box for me. So far out I am not sure I can see the box from here! (How was that for a teaser?) I would promise pictures, but that might give people ideas and we can’t be having any of that. (Why, yes, funny you should ask, I AM cackling…)

A secret project…Shhh…

OK, so I am not sure if it has to be a secret or not…but for now I am keeping it one. LOL. I saw a beautiful quilt on a blog (note, deliberately no links…) and emailed the designer to tell her how amazing I thought it was…long story short, she is being published with this quilt in an Australian quilt magazine…and (ready for it?) she asked me to test the pattern! Um, YES! I am having a lot of fun with it and it is definitely outside of my “box” (hey I have to FOLLOW the pattern, that alone can be outside of my box…LOL). At any rate, I am excited about it and having fun with it. She is out of town at the moment or I would ask how much I can share. Promise. I will ask when she gets back! So, no pictures tonight….

Pretty Things…

I discovered a new (to me) thread. It is Essential Cotton Thread from Connecting Threads! LOVE IT!

In the process of finding it, and starting my collection (LOL!!) I reorganized all of my threads.

I know it takes up some real estate in my office, but the pretty factor is worth it…to me…It is a happy view.

Oh, and I just might have ordered this pretty little thing too…..

I read So many positive reviews of it all over the bloggyworld that I just had to have it! Don’t judge.

P.S. In case y’all haven’t noticed (like you could miss it?) I also have a new found obsession love for Pinterest. Just saying…

Finally….

So, really, who procrastinate on small, easy stuff? Yes, that would be me. When I bought my main sewing machine I found that manual was a little tough to work with. Mostly because I had to set something on it to keep it open to a page…I thought I should print it off of the internet and put it in a notebook so when I used it it would lay flat. OK, so it has been a few YEARS…but I got the manual into a notebook! While I was doing it I also did the manual for the Juki! All organized! Coolness. Can’t figure out why it took me SO long!!

So, as good as this felt…Wanna bet the next time I get a new machine (in about 30 years…) I will still not do the manual thing right away…LOL

IT.IS.DONE.

The Coffee Quilt is done. Let’s just say I am HAPPY it is complete. For some reason I had trouble with it from the moment I started it. Seriously. It turned into experiment after experiment because I never really thought I was going to finish it.LOL.

It is RIDDLED with mistakes, and cover ups and all kinds of fun stuff. I have taken a few, not to incriminating, pictures, but trust me it has FLAWS. Serious flaws. Apparently I had serious photography problems too. It is actually 5 blocks wide and 5 blocks tall…I need my girl home to hold quilts for me. Just saying.

On a good note…

I got to add several things that actually worked (like shadow quilting and little squares that are ragged) I tried a new (to me) method of basting the quilt and LOVE it. Discovered a new brand of thread that is awesome….Tried a new way of binding, not a fan…but I got to try it!

So, all in all, while I made so many mistakes I can’t even remember them all (However, one thing I will remember is that you must always double check that you squared your blocks up! HA!) in the end, well, I like it. LOL. One note. At the start it was supposed to be a guft for a friend. I am not sure if I will still give it or not. Washing and drying on SUPER hot hid a lot of sins…but not all of them…LOL

Kinda Cool…

OK, I KNOW this is dorky…but let me have my moment…I googled “Football Quilt”, then clicked on Images…and one of my quilts shows up!! OK, it is on page 5, with the close up on page 6, but still….it is cool. Stop. Laughing. Please?

Wonder if I could…

There is this “thing” going around Bloggerland…They are calling “Blogtoberfest” (not sure where it started or I would link to it…) Anyway, the idea is to commit to posting on your blog every day of October… I wonder if I could…
